Raul Saaremets Raul Saaremets was born in Kohtla-Jorve, a city in the far east of Estonia. He moved to Tartu, went to art school and finally settled down in the capital,Tallinn. He was a punk, New romantic, and then an acid head. Today he's a super star DJ (club and radio), member of the infamous Una Bombers, and a producer for Umbla records. Vibratsioon (pronounced vib-ra-tion), Raul's own radio station is aired on Thursday nights from 10 to 12pm on Radio 2. The show is an eclectic left-field mix including the best new house, drum'n'bass and hip hop with the occasional Africa pop ditty or indie evergreen thrown in for good measure! But throughout these years, there is a band he has always loved with great passion, The Fall: "They're the reason why I got into a band." He goes on to say "I figured , if a man like Mark E Smith chooses to take part in something as ridiculous as making music, then why shouldn't I?" Too right! AB |
