The Rhythm Doctor
The Rhythm Doctor has been a DJ for over twenty five years,
spinning a wide selection of music from house to Latin and disco to jazz,
the mid 90s saw the Rhythm Doctor spreading his vibes far and wide across
the globe. A top 10 Bill Board hit Enjoy life on 8 Ball Records
took him to New York and virtually every major city in Europe. An offer
of work in Estonia in 1995 was to have a major effect on his life. After
being blown away by an amazing warehouse party in Tallinn, he was offered
a monthly venue and proceeded in bringing over many top artists to perform
including Robert Owens, A Man Called Adam and Basement Jaxx.
In Tallinn he met the love of his life, married and in
1997 together with Raul Saaremets , established Estonia's first monthly
independent party. Guests have included DJ Pierre, Joe Caissel, Gilles
Peterson, Ashley Beadle and Cassio ware. Today he has his own club, restaurant
and bar in Tallinn called BonBon.

1 Are you a native Londoner?
No. I am a brummie.
2 What is your favourite London building?
Battersea power station.
3 Tell us about your most interesting bus or taxi ride
in London.
On a number 38 around Holborn some drunk guy started abusing the conductress,
he hadn't got a valid ticket. I told him to shut the fuck up and get off,
it escalated and the conductress stopped the bus. This caused a traffic
jam so after 5 minutes it moved on, drunk still on board. Then came the
funny part he got out a mobile phone and called the police, saying he
was being threatened by passengers, but it was obvious to me and others
that he wasn't actually talking to the police, so we all began taking
the piss, he got so embarrassed and got off at the next stop.
4 What is your favourite London tube station and why?
Tottenham court road for the Edward Paolozzi mosaics.
5 Who would you most like to be Mayor of London?
Ken Livingstone.
6 What is the worst restaurant you have been to in
London?
That's another funny story. Its a Spanish joint in Kentish town. To cut
a very long story long. I was in there with some mates & it was taking
ages to get our order 40 minutes, 50 minutes 70 minutes went by. The only
other customers in there were eating but joking to us how long it took
them. I went to the toilet and noticed the waiter in the kitchen cooking
our food. Well it turned out he was also the owner. When he came to get
the money from the other table we told him to forget it and we were actually
quite amused by the one man show as were the other table. The poor stressed
out owner exploded! yelling 'you a think its a funny well you can piss
off and you lot just all fucka offa as well' we left tears rolling down
our faces!
7 Where would you go on a dream date in London?
The Ritz.
8 What one thing would you change if you were Mayor
of London?
Put just one bus service down oxford street with terminus' to everywhere
else at each end.

The 3As club in Covent garden where I DJ and hosted along with Jerry dammers.
It was 1988 and was totally underground in a beautiful youth club cellar
(as featured in quadrophenia youth club scene) which is now the belgo
restaurant(or was?) our guests included soul II soul, on-u sound system,
norman jay, mark moore etc it was such a cool place with a great crowd.
It lasted about 6 months till old bill clamped down, too much spliffing.
10 What is your favourite thing about London?
Shopping for music and clothes.
